Unite Scholars Faidha Charles (a Presidential scholarship recipient studying mechanical engineering), Hawa Hamimu (occupational therapy), Veronica Moses (radiology), Vaileth Komba (medicine), and Gaudencia Simon (pharmacy) spent two months from July 2024 interning at the Cambridge Institute of Tourism Management teaching Unite’s soft skills of professionalism and leadership curriculum to more than 50 students and staff. Their lessons ranged from personal branding, time management, networking, CV development, inteviewing, and emotional intelligence to presentation skills, stress management, customer care, financial literacy, effective use of social media, goal setting, and entrepreneurship.

THE NATURE CONSERVANCY.

Unite scholars John John Mashimba (studying tax) and Ephraim Thomas (finance and business) interned with The Nature Conservancy in Kigoma for 3 months from July to September and worked with community banks, public health initiatives, and the Buhingu Beach Management Unit. The boys also launched a new Unite Club at the Lagosa Secondary School, reaching ~100 students with Unite soft skills of professionalism and leadership curriculum.

A Unite scholar Lukas Peter Henry interned at Philomena arts and crafts in Zanzibar for 3 months ensuring he secure a predent and new market for the tourist items being sold at Philomena arts and craft office as well as proposing new ideas for the market expansion.

MATERNITY AFRICA.

Unite Student Pili Bida Gabanza (studying nursing) has been interning (for a second extended school holiday) with Maternity Africa in Arusha at their Kivulini Hospital where she is assisting with pre-and postpartum patient care and delivering and caring for newborn infants. Also Unite scholar Loyce Cheja interned at Maternity Africa in social department ensuring the patients are treated well socially before any service.
